Worlds Greatest Dad – First Posted: Friday, May 27, 2011

Boo!

I know I know, 2 posts in as many days, yes I am feeling ok! ha ha.

I have another Fathers day card for you today and a circle sentiment digi, I think this digi would work just as well for birthdays so I’ve included one for Mum too.

I used my circle sentiment as a rosette center, the rosette is attached to the card with a safety pin so it can be removed and worn. I printed the sentiment onto some textured card stock then cut out with a circle die, I cut an extra layer of thick card to attach underneath it to prevent warping then covered it with some clear gloss liquid to make it nice and shiny.

Ric Rac Flower Card + 3 Cut Files – First Posted: Friday, April 01, 2011

Hiyah,

I’ve been getting alot of questions regarding my cut files, they are designed for using with digital cutting machines and not for cutting by hand (scissors/craft knife). I use a CraftRobo(Silhouette) and therefore use GSD files, I’m not sure what file types the other cutting machines use or what additional software is required, I just try to help out as best I can by supplying the file formats that have been requested. I’m hope this helps with any confusion.

I got a great deal on some ric rac on ebay and remembered seeing these cute little ric rac flowers somewhere on the internet and after a bit of playing around I sussed them out, all you need to do is stitch along one side of the ric rac (the bumps along one side) and gather it up. I love how the yellow one turned out, it looks just like a Marigold, I even found the perfect tiny button to pop in the middle. I cut the grass out of some patterned paper then cut free hand some stems and leaves from the same paper and edged with some gel pen. I embossed my little clouds with a dot embossing folder and mounted my little scene on a label shape from my new set.

True Love – First Posted: Friday, January 28, 2011

Hi There!

Well I’ve been having a play with my new Copics and they’re great, this is my first Copic card! Woot! The colours are so vivid compared to markers I have tried in the past and you barely have to touch the page to colour in images. It’s going to take some practice to get used to them but I can tell already that they blend so well, they really do seem as good as everyone says, its just my skill that needs some work now lol and thats all part of crafting isn’t it? Learning new skills and techniques is one of the best bits of our hobby I reckon.

I have a tattoo inspired heart and scroll digi stamp for you today, one with a sentiment and one plain so you can hand write or stamp your own message on it. I hope you like them.

I went for a less traditional take on a valentines card with some strong colours and used the faux tile technique on my image: I coloured my image to match my patterned paper then cut into squares and covered with a layer of crystal effects type laquer then stuck onto some black card when dry.
