A day to remember – First Posted: Friday, April 23, 2010

I’ve just watched the final of Project Runway (don’t worry, you won’t get any spoilers from me) and I’m so pleased with the result because the person who I have been rooting for all season won. I absolutely loved all of their designs throughout the competition, they really appealed to me.

I had a request for more generic sentiments in frames so here’s one for you and I’ll do some more soon, also I have another pack of papers in the pipeline and then I’ll get back to some digi stamps, it’s all go.

I printed todays sentiment in blue and cut with a spellbinders square die then layered with some blue card squares and incorporated 2 fancy tags which I cris crossed. I used a border stamp set from Technique Tuesday to form a frame on my backing sheet and embossed in white then punched 2 ribbon slots with a Tonic ribbon punch and laced in some white ribbon.

Home is where the heart is Card, Digi + Sentiment – First Posted: Sunday, April 04, 2010

Todays image is a Cottage at the end of a tree lined path. I was inspired by a scene in the latest episode of The Vampire Diaries although the scene was quite a bleak one where the house was the vampire den and there was no grass or leaves I really liked the idea of a path of trees leading right to the door so I decided to make mine a little country cottage with a thatched roof.

I thought this image could be used for a new home card and made a ‘Home is where the heart is’ sentiment to go with it in a square frame which can be cut out with a square nestability or punch etc.

Your freebies today are:

1. a digital stamp

2. a sentiment oval

and……..

3. my very first patterned papers!

I’ve made a Mothers Day easel card today as Mothering Sunday is coming soon in the UK. I coloured my Crocus image with prismas and layered with spellbinders fleur de lis border die by mitering the corners and layered with the purple paper from my small check paper pack (below) and some purple card stock. The lower panel is made from the same purple cardstock and spellbinder border die and the green paper from my small check paper pack. I printed my sentiment onto the purple patterned paper and punched it out with an oval punch and layered onto a die from spellbinders floral accents, I added an eyelet to each die cut and threaded a 1 inch ribbon through.

This is the first time I’ve done papers so I really would love to hear what you guys think about it, if you find them useful and if you would like to see more papers in the future so please leave me a comment and let me know what you think. I keep using up the check patterns from paper packs first and have been running out so I created these out of necessity initially but of course I had to share them with you. The papers are A4/letter size, there are 7 pastel colours and the size of the check pattern is small to suit card making. I hope you like them.
