3D Butterfly Card

Good Afternoon!

I have a card for you today that I made for my Neice’s Birthday recently as she loves Butterflies. I’ve previously seen this idea created with punches but our Cutting Machines allow us to make them any size or shape we like :)

I cut my card base from some aqua card and my matting layer from some yellow chevron paper as this matting layer shows under the Butterfly wings. I cut my card front from some white card then cut my Butterflies from 3 different patterned papers, it really pays to use double sided papers for the Butterflies as the under side of the Wings are visible too. I adhered both layers directly to my card base then folded each Butterfly and added a strip of glue just down the fold and placed into each Butterfly gap in the card front. Once the glue is dry you can bend the wings outwards for a 3 Dimensional effect.

If you’d like to use my Square Box Envelope to place your card inside without crushing the wings, you can find it here :)

Invitation Envelope No.7

Hiyah!

I have had a very long and busy weekend, my Parents came to visit and we literally shopped ’til we dropped. We started off with a trip around the Hobbycrafts and Sewing event at the NEC on Thursday where my Mum fell in love with the new Brother Embroidery Machine, It’s got quite a price tag but it does have some amazing features. I plucked up the courage to introduce myself to the lovely Melanie Heaton who often uses my files to demonstrate the Brother Scan n Cut machine on Create and Craft, Mel was demonstrating a new manual die cutter that also hot foils! It certainly looked very tempting.

So, today’s freebie is an envelope with a swirly design, it will make any invitation or greetings card extra special. The four corners fold into the middle and there are holes to thread a ribbon through to hold the envelope closed. I hope you like it :)
