Heart of Hearts – First Posted: Saturday, January 15, 2011

Hello There

I know, I know, it’s about time I posted a new project! My craft table is back up and I will be putting it to good use! I am absolutely brimming with ideas, If I had the time to make all of the projects happen that I have ideas for, this site would be chock-a and I’d have a big ‘ole post up daily. I actually had a few Christmas projects that didn’t make it up in time, ah well there’s always next year lol.

Well for my first post of 2011 and in keeping with my promise before Christmas, where possible, I will do my best to do digital stamp versions of any cut files I post so those of you without digital cutters don’t miss out and that is exactly what I have done today. Valentines day is just around the corner so we had to have a heart theme to start things off, I’m calling my design ‘Heart of Hearts’. I hope you like it.

I had great fun colouring my digi for my card, I used different shades of pinky-purple prisma pencils to try to give the smaller hearts some dimension and popped a heart shaped button on top of one of them. I thought I’d try something new and used a sketch from Splitcoast Stampers for the layout of my card, it certainly helps to speed up card making, I’d definitely do that again.

For my cut file I’ve made a quick little tag which is perfect for attaching to a valentines gift. I cut the file in red card then with pink card I just cut the outer line a little larger to form a matting layer. I popped in an eyelet and some ribbon to attach to my gift and will write my message on the reverse side nearer the time.

8 Cut Files + 8 Digis – First Posted: Wednesday, December 15, 2010

Hiyah!

10 Days ’til Christmas! Wow, that’s not long and I have so many things to do and lots of half done projects to finish, I’d better get a move on huh?

Ok, I have some snowflake cut files for you today, I absolutely fell in love with some of those large snowflake punches and dies that were around last year and had planned to get one for this year so when I got my CraftRobo for my birthday I fully intended to make my own snowflake cut files and here they are! I’ve only just scratched the surface of learning what Illustrator does so I’m chuffed to bits that I’ve been able to create these and I hope you will find them useful. I’ve added them as digis too so you don’t have to have a cutting machine to use them.

I cut one snowflake from each of the sets in white card, I coloured one with a pale aqua marker then covered with holographic glitter and popped a gem in the middle. The backing is a sheet of Core’dinations white wash card which I embossed with a dot embossing folder then sanded the high points with an emery board (I didn’t have any sandpaper to hand). I printed the sentiment straight from Word onto my patterned paper and framed top and bottom with some co-ordinating ribbon.

look no ornaments! – First Posted: Thursday, December 09, 2010

Hey Guys,

I promised something other than ornaments, right? I have a Christmas Candle for you today, it’s also part of a bigger digi which will be popping up soon and I have just finished some cut files so it’s all busy here.

I wanted to have a vintage look to my card so I sponged a label four with some distress inks making it lighter nearer the flame area to make it look as though it was lighting a darkened room, I coloured my candle with prisma pencils then added glossy accents to the drip area so it looked melted and to add a distressed look to my bright white lace I added some water to vintage photo ink and painted it on with an aqua brush then heat set it.
