3 tier Parcel Card + Template – First Posted: Saturday, January 16, 2010

Todays card is a taller version of yesterdays 2 parcel card, this time comprising of 3 parcels. I sized the template to approx 6.5 inches high which made it approx 3.5 inches wide and my finished card will fit comfortably into a DL sized envelope.

I followed the same method as before, I aligned my template to the RIGHT hand side in Word, I scored along the dotted lines and folded to form my card then cut around the other 3 sides with my craft knife and scissors. I paper pieced the front of the card remembering to add ribbon before sticking my sections down and added my sentiments on little tags.

Parcel Shaped Card + Template – First Posted: Friday, January 15, 2010

Todays card is a perfect excuse to break out the ribbon and is a handy way to use up your scraps of patterned papers that if you’re anything like me you can’t bear to throw away.

I inserted my image into Word and sized it to 4 inches wide, the important part is to align the image to the far RIGHT hand side of the page before you print it onto your card stock. I scored along the dotted line and folded to form my card and trimmed round the outside edge of the other 3 sides to form the shape using scissors and a craft knife. I measured the 4 areas on the front of the card and cut the 2 larger ones from co-ordinating patterned paper and the 2 smaller ones from purple card, I added some matching ribbon and attached to my card. I printed my sentiment onto lilac card and punched it out using a tag punch and layered onto more of the purple card, I added an eyelet and attached to my ribbon with some embroidery thread. The finished card will fit into a standard sized envelope.

Free Digital Stamps

New Digital Stamp anyone? – First Posted: Thursday, January 14, 2010

My new Digital Stamp is a bunch of roses in a vase. It is quite a versatile digi and can be used on valentines cards as I have here or on birthday cards, mothers day cards, thank you cards etc and the roses can be coloured to suit the occasion.

I sized my digi in Word to approx 4″ x 3″, printed it onto white card stock and coloured with markers chosing red for my flowers as it is meant for valentines day. I wanted it to look as though my image was a painting on an easel or display stand so I backed the image with brown card stock and added a die cut from one of the small dies in the Spellbinders Lattice pendant at the top and two from a small die in the Spellbinders In Spades pendant on the bottom corners. I sponged all of the brown pieces with Rangers Seashells Ink in Sandal to add depth and a wood like finish. My backing paper has a heart pattern over it although it can’t really be seen and layered onto some matching card stock, I added a deep red ribbon and attached to my cream 5.5″ square card base.
