If you don’t have any matching embellishments, make your own! – First Posted: Friday, November 20, 2009

I wanted to use some paper from the DCWV Christmas stack that had little christmes presents on and have taken it out a few times to use but couldn’t find anything to go with it when it came to me…I will make some larger versions of the little presents on the paper.

I picked 3 that had different dimensions and incorporated all of the colours in the paper and made my own versions from scraps of paper and ribbon using the same colour ways. I stacked my presents so they look just like they do under the Christmas tree.

Triangle box with a scallop circle punch tree – First Posted: Friday, November 13, 2009

I had my first go at printing a full page of pattern today, This is a Christmas Plaid design from the bonus cd that came with the Creative Card Maker disc set, I’ve had these discs for a while but as I now have a pretty good printer I gave it a go and I’m very happy with the results. Although this was a backing paper design I printed it onto cardstock as I was making a box and it needed to be sturdy.

I trimmed off the border then cut my cardstock in two lengthways leaving me with pieces measuring approx 10.5″ x 3.75″ each is enough for a box so you will be able to get two boxes from one sheet of A4, cool huh? All you need to do is score the card across the middle widthways and score from the ends of this score to the centre of each edge in a diamond shape, fold then punch a small hole at the top for some ribbon. My tree was made from 5 scallop circle punches each trimmed slightly smaller than the last, finished off with a brown paper trunk and some gems and a star shaped brad.

This is an ideal box for a small gift or treats and is small and light enough to hang on your Christmas tree.
