Painting with Bleach + another Free Digital Stamp – First Posted: Friday, February 05, 2010

I’ve been playing with bleach today which I didn’t think was working to begin with until I realised that not all paper/card stocks can be bleached lol, you certainly know it when you find one that can as it is so quick! It is a really fun technique.

I tested bleach on several papers and settled on this handmade one which bleached instantly. I printed my image onto my paper then filled an aquapainter with bleach and a little water and ‘painted’ my image trying to keep within the lines. This kind of paper soaks up liquid ultra fast so I dried my brush on a piece of kitchen paper frequently and made sure that my brush was damp rather than wet. I created the water effect by lightly brushing over the high spots of the texture in the paper. I printed a sentiment and glued it behind a frame and added some eyelets, I added some more eyelets to my card blank and strung the two together with brown embroidery thread to add a faux rope detail.

Cinderella’s Castle card + Free Digi – First Posted: Thursday, February 04, 2010

Good Morning

I have a little girls birthday coming up and thought that a Cinderella’s Castle card would be just the trick so I’ve whipped up a lil’ digi for you.

I printed my image onto white card and cut out with a circle die and lightly sponged with blue ink before removing the die to give a white border. I paper pieced some grass and a path then coloured my image with markers. I printed Happy Birthday onto some card, I cut around it with a ‘V’ at the end and manipulated it until I was happy that it had a flag like wave to it then attached it to the top turret. I layered my image with some spotty backing paper and some bright pink card and added a huge bow, some little butterflies and a dash of glitter for good measure.

Window Card + Digital Stamp – First Posted: Tuesday, February 02, 2010

I printed my image onto watercolour paper to add some texture, I roughly drew some brick shapes onto the background to make it look like a wall and coloured in the image with markers. I cut a piece of brown card into a window box shape and added some leaf and flower shapes then added to my image with some sticky foam pads. I chose some green backing paper that had a vine pattern the layered some brown narrow ribbon onto so some wider green ribbon with some very narrow double-sided sticky tape to tie the colours in the card together.
