quick kids card + sentiment – First Posted: Monday, August 23, 2010

Good Morning!

This is a very quick and fun card I put together using one of my favourite stamp sets, its a Hero Arts one called Playful Animals, it’s got cute little elephants, monkeys, owls etc and is perfect for when you need to make a kids card in a hurry. I used the little crocodile on my card and knew that the reptile skin font I had would be a great match for my sentiment. To add to the ‘snappy’ effect, I die cut 2 pieces of card with the spellbinders ric rac border to give a hint of crocodile teeth to the card.

masculine card + oval frame – First Posted: Friday, August 13, 2010

hey hey,

I have an oval versions of the circle frame which I posted recently for you today, it should be compatible with Spellbinders classic oval dies but you may find that you can use some oval punches with it too. It can be used to frame sentiments, images, photos or embellishments, anything really. I made a cheeky note card today ideal for a chap using the flame frame and some masculine colours and papers.

I inserted my frame into Word and resized by right clicking and changing the size to match one of the spellbinder dies, once that was done I right clicked again and used the format picture option to recolour my image to red. After my frame was die cut I coloured the outside edge with a yellow marker to add to the flame effect. To add some more dimension to my card I created a panel using one of Tim Holtz on the edge dies (Ornate), this is the first time I have used one of his dies and although I found it a little bit tricky to line the paper up straight they do cut lovely. As this is a masculine card I finished it off with a simple knot in black twill and resisted the urge to add a big bow! ha ha.
