Free Digital Sentiments, Free Digital Stamps

and so it begins… – First Posted: Saturday, November 13, 2010

Ok, Ok, I’m giving in and starting my Christmas projects today! I have seen some wonderful creations going up on others blogs for a while now and couldn’t resist any longer, I absolutely love Christmas and the more glittery the better as far as I am concerned. I felt that some Digital Stamps were way overdue so I have a Holly Wreath to start you off with. I also have a matching sentiment frame to border the wreath if you fancy although it can be used on any Christmas-sy project and is dead simple to cut out with your Nesties or any other circle cutter system. I hope you like them.

I sized both images in Word ensuring that the sentiment frame would be large enough to fit around the holly wreath image when I cut it out with my circle Nestabilities. I printed my image twice to add dimension by layering the bow, I coloured them with markers and pencils and added some glossy accents to the bow and popped up with 3D foam pads. I cut a circle mat in red card and to add a little sparkle I swiped a versamark pad over all of the edges and embossed with Stempendous Crystal embossing powder for a great glittery touch, I can’t speak highly enough of their embossing powders, I’ve only tried them recently but I love them! Ok, I finished the card by using a scalloped circle Nestability to create the card base and popped on a few strategically placed sticky backed gems.

Free Digital Sentiments

special person card + sentiment – First Posted: Monday, November 08, 2010

Hey there,

I’ve been working on some Christmas projects which include cards, tags and ornaments incorporating digital stamps, sentiments and/or cut files, you know, the same old jazz. But before we dive into all things glitzy and glittery, I have a birthday sentiment for you today. I tried a new technique and coloured my image with water based markers and an aquabrush, it takes a little getting used to to ensure that you don’t leave water marks but I love the vibrancy of the colours when they’re dry. I used my sentiment on the inside of my card echoing the layout on the front of the card.

Pleated Ribbon Flowers, Card + Tag – First Posted: Wednesday, November 03, 2010

Good Morning,

I don’t know if you saw this tutorial by Maya Road on their blog but I love these little pleated ribbon flowers they made and I thought aha! I can make those as I used to make Rosettes and have some very similar pleated ribbon in my stash. I showed the tutorial to my Mum and she thought that they might look a little more ‘flower like’ without the button if the ribbon went right through to the middle, so armed with my trusty hot glue gun I gave both a try. See what you think.

You know, although I like both, I think Mum had a point about them looking more ‘flower like’ without the button. So Mums birthday came round and guess which one I used on her card.
