Warm Winter Wishes card + digis – First Posted: Wednesday, November 24, 2010

Hello there!

brrrrrr…isn’t it cold today? My card is a bit of a coincidence today as it really is time to dig out my scarf and gloves, it looked like the whole world was covered in a layer of frost this morning. Also I realised today that it is the 24th and exactly one month away from Christmas Eve! Does that mean I can start to get excited?

I couldn’t help but make another card with an Acetate transparency window, this time I stamped onto it with White Stazon and I absolutely love the effect, I don’t think this will be the last time you’ll see the Acetate/White Stazon combination this side of Christmas. I printed my Mitten twice onto some patterned paper and as the paper was a little flimsy I glued it down to some white card then cut out, added a piece of embroidery thread and popped onto my window with some 3D foam pads. I coloured my sentiment with pencils and to finish I added some glitz with a little glitter and stickles because it’s the law! ha ha.

Crystal Snowflake Card + Sentiment – First Posted: Sunday, November 21, 2010

Hello all,

I’ve realised this week that Christmas has been creeping up on me faster than I had realised so I’ve been starting my Christmas shopping and it’s going quite well, I’ve sorted about half of my side of the family so far but as this is only the third Christmas Card I’ve done I really need to get my bum into gear!

My inspiration for this card came from seeing these Star Gems online, they reminded me of some teardrop shaped gems I’ve had in my stash for a long time and until now didn’t know what to do with. I played around with some patterns and added some different sized round gems until I was happy then stuck them all down onto a white circle and layered with some blue glitter card and attached to an acetate window I created using some transparencies from a stationary store and my Nestabilities. I changed the colour of my digi sentiment in Word and layered with more of the glitter card and the loopy border from my free cut files.

‘from our house’ card + freebies – First Posted: Thursday, November 18, 2010

Hello Hello,

I have a Christmas Door digital stamp complete with its own little holly wreath, also I have a matching ‘from our house to yours’ sentiment for you. I hope you like them and they will come in handy for you in your Christmas projects.

To add texture to my door and to give it the look of paneling, I coloured it with markers then went over it with different shades of brown pencils. I shaded the windows as though there is a warm light inside and added a layer of glossy accents to give the look of glass, sadly the photo doesn’t pick this up but it is very effective. I added some distressing to the different layers including the sentiment with some distress ink and finished with some faux stitching with a paper piercer and some white gel pen and finally a few mini sticky gems on the wreath.
