Easter Bendy Card

Hiyah!

I have an Easter Bendy Card for you today that has some tiny little Easter Eggs holding the sentiment to the frame. I’ve added a separate layer of the sentiment area for you too so you can cut the layer in a different colour or texture and add it to the card which will also add some strength to the area too as a bonus.

I cut my card from some pale yellow card stock then cut the sentiment layer from some bright yellow card stock and added some little gems to the Easter Eggs. I decided to add some colour to my card so I cut a piece of blue gingham paper from the Birds Ginghams Pastels printable paper pack and stuck it inside the back of the card. A quick and easy Easter Card which literally takes minutes to make :)

A card for my Mum

Hey Guys :)

It was Mothers Day here in the UK yesterday and this is the card I made for my Mum, it was quite a dimensional card that certainly wouldn’t fit into an envelope so I made a box-type envelope for it which I will make a little picture tutorial for very soon.  The freebie I have for you today is a set of Doily Circles which can be used individually or layered as I did with my Mums card, I can envisage tons of uses for these including shaped cards, matting layers, sentiment frames etc.

I cut and stitched my backing layers then used my ruler to gauge how large I wanted my doily to be and cut both layers exactly the same size then stuck together with 3d foam pads. I cut a sentiment from textured card to match my patterned paper and stuck down the the middle of my doily. I cut several of the 5 petal flower from Flowers 3 and formed into rose shapes then tucked some leaf shapes from Branches 1 behind the roses. I added a bead spray of glass beads and pearls to the flowers which I made following the brilliant luvleescrappin‘s tutorial, I’ve been wanting to use these on cards for a while now and this was the perfect card to add one to.

Can you see why I needed a box envelope? ;)

Something a little different

Hello There!

I have something a little different for you today, I have been asked to make a card for a family member who is attending a Handfasting. A Handfasting is an age old Celtic Wedding Ceremony, where they tie the hands of the Bride and Groom together with ribbon which I assume is where the expression ‘tying the knot’ comes from. I didn’t have a clue how to approach it but in the end this is what I came up with and I hope the person I made it for will like it.

I cut the hands from a pale peach colour card and heavily sponged the edges with antique linen ink then cut the finger nails with cream card and sponged with tattered rose ink. I layered the hands and fingers with 3d foam pads wrapping the ribbon as I went then added the whole front piece to the card base.
