Rain Rain, go away, come again another day!

Good Afternoon!

Well what a timely post this is, as the glorious weather we’ve been basking in over the last couple weeks has passed on by and been replaced by grey skies and rain. I wonder if I jinxed it by creating my little umbrella images over the last few days? I have an umbrella cut file for you today along with 2 circle digis including the umbrella image and sentiments and 2 other digi sentiments too which should give you lots of different ways to use them whether you have a digital cutting machine or not. If you have Microsoft Word (97) on your computer and you haven’t seen my digi stamp video tutorials you may want to have a little look if you’d like to see how I change the colour of my digis before I print them.

I thought up this card when I couldn’t sleep one night last week, I’ve had these teardrop shaped gems for at least a couple of years now and suddenly thought they’d make the perfect raindrops. It’s not much of a leap I know but I’m a bit slow on the uptake sometimes! I added an acetate ‘window’ to my card, my tip is to mat your layers then stick to your card base with some removable adhesive, cut your circle with a circle die through all of the layers then separate, add your layer of acetate and pop your layers back down with permanent adhesive…voila, perfectly lined up circles.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for Ice Cream!

Hellooo!!

I told you I was off to make something Summery so here is my batch of Ice Cream Digi stamps, sentiments, sentiment circles and cut file. I varied the image a little by making the digi stamp a 3 scoop ice cream and the sentiment circles 2 scoop versions but of course if you use the cut file you can pile yours as high as you like. You may notice that the cut file cone doesn’t have the waffle lines but I planned to score some in with my score board but decided to make some digi examples as it’s been a while so didn’t get to show that. Well, I hope you like these Ice Cream images and will enjoy using them in your Summer projects.

I followed the colour scheme from The Shabby Tea Room and the sketch from Mojo Monday although I did stretch it out as I made a tall card. I printed my image in a pale brown then coloured with Copics and added some glaze pen to the cherry, I mounted the image and sentiment onto yellow card and stitched around the edge with a straight stitch. I layered 3 sections of patterned paper and also mounted onto yellow card and stitched with a zigzag stitch then wrapped with some narrow yellow gingham ribbon and mounted onto a kraft coloured card. Oh look there might be a little lilac vellum future cut file preview on my card, oops ;)

I made a quick tag with some of the left over pieces from my card with some Copics and Spellbinder dies.

A Dora Card to share

Good Afternoon!

I hope you are having the same glorious weather that we are lucky enough to have at the moment, it’s like we’ve skipped Spring and jumped straight into Summer! It’s really making me feel like making lots of bright Summery cards and projects, yep, I’ve definitely got my thinking cap on.

I’ve got a card to share today which I sent to my Niece for her Birthday, I actually remembered to take a photo before I added her name too, I’m getting good at the this blogging stuff ;) Anyhoo, my Niece loves anything Dora so I created a cut file of Dora’s face and made a shaped card from it. I cut the pieces out of textured card and sponged them with distress inks before gluing together and lastly added some glossy accent style liquid to the eyes to add some shine. Before I sent the card I personalised it by adding a speech bubble with the recipients name and age.

Ok, I’m scooting off to make something Summery! Be back soon :)
