Sunflower Digital Stamp, Pot Plant Cut File & Template

Good Afternoon!

I have a plant pot shaped card for you today, I have 2 formats so if you have a digital cutting machine there is a cut file for you but if you don’t have one there is a template version for you to print out and cut with your scissors as there are lots of nice straight lines with today’s card. You can add any plant or flower to your pot or even a Christmas Tree, my tip would be to attach your flowers/plant to the front of the card base and cover with the coloured pot layer to sandwich them in place and keep the inside of your card nice and neat. I also have sunflower pot digi stamp for you that I just couldn’t resist colouring which is why you have 2 examples from me today, to be honest I don’t know which one I prefer but it was fun to create 2 different cards using the same image.

Here is my card using the cut file, I cut my card base from some heavyweight white card then cut the 2 coloured pot layers from some terracotta textured card. I cut my stems from Stems 1 then cut my sunflower petals from Flowers 1 using just the outside path from the top right flower (2 for each flower) and cut large circles for my brown middles. I sponged all of my layers in co-ordinating distress inks then curved the petal edges forward and domed the flower middles to add some dimension. I glued the stems between the 2 petal layers and added the middles using 3d foam pads then attached the 3 flowers to the front of the card base before attaching the pot layers. My flowers were a little top heavy so I glued the flowers together where they overlapped to add some stability but if I were to make this card again I would cut 2 layers of the stems to add some strength to them.

Here is my card using the digital stamp, I inserted, sized and coloured my digi a medium brown colour using the method shown here but it would work just as well in black. I coloured my image with Copics then cut with a Spellbinder Die and cut my layer from the outside of the die and a craft knife. My background paper is from my small checks pack, I matted and stitched the layers then added some lace and a seam binding bow and a button. I printed my sentiment, cut into a rectangle, rounded the top 2 corners then added an eyelet and tied to my bow.

Princess cut files & digis

Hi Guys!

I have something for the little Ladies in your life today, I do hope they will like them. For those of you with a digital cutting machine you have a Princess shaped card along with 4 different dress options and for those of you who don’t I have made digi versions of the princess wearing each dress for you to colour or paper piece :)

My niece loves all things Princess and this is the card I made for her this year. I couldn’t decide which dress to use so I opted for all 4 then I just had to find a way to make it work. I had the paper dolls in mind that I used to have when I was little but remembered that the little tags didn’t always hold very well so I dug around on my craft desk and found some binder rings, got to love those ‘aha’ moments!

Shaped Card: I cut my card base in white, I cut the skin colour layer and added small coloured pieces of paper behind the face spaces then attached it to my card base. I cut the hair pieces in a pale yellow the added some tiny gems to the hair to make a tiara and some more to the neck for a necklace. I picked the strapless dress to be the permanently attached layer and gave it an underwear feel by cutting it in plain card and simply decorated with lace. I punched some holes on the left side of the skirt and added some eyelets making sure to add the eyelets to the front and back separately (using 4 eyelets) else the card won’t open properly. I placed my card base over each dress in turn and marked the holes to ensure the eyelets all lined up.

Pink Dress: I cut the dress layers in some shimmery pink card stock. I created 2 ruffles by stitching along one edge of some narrow pink ribbon and gathering up, I glued them along the neckline of the dress top and tucked them behind to create a neat edge. If you would like to recreate my flip card idea remember to cut a spare dress layer to attach to the back of each dress to hide the ribbon edges and to ensure that the front and back both have the same pattern/shine.

princess3

Blue Dress: I cut all of the dress layers (along with an extra of the large layer for the back) in a shimmery blue card stock. I covered the 2 small skirt pieces and the piece by the neck in lace and added some little ribbon bows to the middle of each.

princess4

White Dress: I cut all of the dress layers in a shimmery white card stock (plus an extra for the back). I cut the dress shape again in a patterned vellum and attached to the white dress where I knew the top layers would be so the glue wouldn’t show through. I added some ruffled lace under the edges of the skirt layers and attached to the dress. I needed to add some 3d foam pads behind the top pieces as the lace had added some height to the skirt sections.

Here’s how the card looks with all of the dresses added to the rings so that they may be flipped over like a mini album.

Fathers Day Card #3

Good Morning!

I have my third Fathers Day card for you today which is the card I sent to my Dad this year so I couldn’t post it before the day in case he spotted it and although you wouldn’t be able to use the fathers day sentiment ’til next year, all of the other items can be used any time of year :) My Dad has recently ventured into Bee Keeping so I have some bee themed elements for you today. There are 2 bee cut files and a wooden bee hive cut file too and for those of you without a digital cutting machine I created a digi bee scene for you to colour, I also have 2 matching sentiments. There is a cut file for the pop up slider card base, you can find it in my last post here.

I wanted to give the hive a bit of a realistic feel by swiping some darker brown ink over my hive pieces to give a wood effect and lifted the bottom of each slat with 3d foam pads to add dimension. I mounted my little bees onto strips of acetate then attached to the back of the hive so they appear to flutter in mid air and the iridescent vellum I used for the wings looks really effective when they catch the light.
