Swirly Christmas Tree

Hey There!

I am one of those people that are very critical of their own work as a rule but I am so pleased with how today’s cut file came out, I tried to create my Swirly Christmas Tree last week but I wasn’t happy with how it looked and deleted it. I gave it another go last night and wouldn’t let myself go to bed until I had it cracked and in the end I did. I really like it and I hope you do too :)

I’ve made a couple of extra tags with my Tree Cut File, I’d rather have too many than not enough. I cut my Trees from some silver mirror card and cut a backing layer in white card (using the offset command in Silhouette Studio) then stuck the two together with some Zig glue. I popped in an eyelet and some seam binding then attached a star shaped button with some silver cord.

Elf Shoe Cards

Hi Guys!

I mentioned in yesterday’s post that you could turn the elf shoe cut file given in that post into a shaped card, after I posted it I thought what the heck, I’ll do it for you :)

So, I have a choice of 2 for you, a side hinged version or one with the hinge at the top. There isn’t a great deal of difference but you may be able to see that the first card is a top opening version and has a flat top.

This is the side opening version and has more shape to the top but has a flat section on the heel, not much of a difference but you can chose which you prefer :)

I cut my card bases in some red shimmery card and the top from some similar gold shimmer card. I threaded some jingle bells and sewed them onto the tips of my gold card and stuck to the back with strong tape then added some gold and red ribbons before attaching to my card bases to cover all of the thread and ribbon ends. I cut a sentiment in some more shimmer card and glued directly to the front of the card.

This is a simple card to make but the jingle bells will no doubt be a hit with the little ones in my family.

Elf Shoes

Good Evening!

I have an Elf Shoe Cut File for you today, I’ve turned mine into tags but one or a pair would be great on the front of a card or for Christmas Scrapbook pages too. Another idea would be to make an Elf Shoe shaped card, simply mirror your base piece (the green layer in my tag) ensuring they overlap slightly and weld together, fold along the join, then add your top piece (the red layer in my tag) to the front of the card.

I’ve also added a pair of the elf shoes as a digi stamp and a couple of digi sentiments for you to print off if you don’t have an electronic cutter.

I cut my shoe pieces in bright red and green card then welded the 2 shapes together and cut a white layer for the back of my tag so I could write a message. Before I attached the pieces together I put some thread through some small jingle bells, I tied a knot in the thread then stuck them to the back of the red piece with some strong tape. I added some thread to another bell and attached it to the back of the toe of the green piece then stuck all of the pieces together. I popped in an eyelet and added some bakers twine then cut some thin strips from the scraps of green card and glued across the middle of the red section.
