Lace-y Borders 2

Hello!

I have a Lacey Border Set for you today which co-ordinates with the Lacey Square Frames 2 that I posted recently. There is also Lacey Border 1 that was posted a couple of months ago if you’re looking for a slightly different design.

I cut my border from some lightweight card, I also cut one of my doilies and some flower shapes from some coloured vellum. I shaped my flowers with a large embossing stylus and a stamping mat (a mouse mat will work too) then popped a flat backed pearl inside, I coloured my pearls to match my vellum with Copics. I used Prima ‘Devine’ & ‘Fairy Rhymes’ papers which I matted on white card then stitched with my sewing machine, I finished my card with a Rose Petal Seam Binding bow.

We’ve Moved & others

Hiyah!

I’ve been making some We’ve Moved cards to let people know our new address and while I was designing it I made a few other versions for different house related occasions. You have a choice between We’ve Moved, You’re Invited, House Warming or House Party.

I cut the card base from some 160 gsm lightweight card, I used Xerox Colour Impressions, then cut a sheet of bright coloured 160gsm card slightly smaller than the card size to line my card giving it the combined weight it needs to be sturdy enough. I attached the card liner with one strip of narrow double sided tape at the back by the fold, I like that the layers can separate and the detail in the front of the card can cast shadows.

Boat Diorama

Good Evening!

I’d like to share another diorama card with you today, I was so pleased with how the bedroom diorama card turned out that I decided to make a different version for another family member. I needed to send this one through the post so it was an ideal choice as a diorama card closes flat enough to fit into an envelope even though there is a dimensional surprise lurking inside. I did create this cut file for a specific person but if it can be of any use to you, you are very welcome to it :)

The main advise I can give to you when it comes to assembly is to fold along all of the score lines to get a feel of how it all goes together. Attach some strong double sided tape to the edges of the scene layers then attach the foremost layer first (the shorter wave section) behind the circle working backwards into the scene. Once all of the layers (including the backing sky and sun layer) are in place you can close up the box section with more tape.

I sandwiched some acetate between the boat layers to give the effect of windows:

In case you were wondering, I kept the front of my card very simple as all of the drama is inside but it did have the recipient’s name on there which is why there is no photo :)
