Spring card + digi – First Posted: Thursday, February 18, 2010

Just when I thought Spring had sprung we go and get a big ‘ole downpour of snow! Well, I can’t do anything about the weather but maybe a cheery spring card will lift the spirits a little.

The frame of todays card was made with an ornare template, I pricked all of the holes then popped it into my big shot to emboss it, I’m not sure that this was the best thing to do as it flattened the pierced holes a bit so I’ll probably do it with a stylus in future. I sliced along some of the holes with a craft knife to slide my ribbon across the bottom which was doubled up 1/4 inch and 1/2 inch shades of yellow to match the card stock. I colored my image with prismacolor pencils and added some gems to the piercing pattern. Hope it brightens your day a tad.

card, digi & digi combo! – First Posted: Wednesday, February 17, 2010

I have some new additions to my digital stamp section which I used in conjuction with some existing digis to make this little scene. I have added the combined digi below for those of you that may not have photoshop or don’t know how to combine them.

I coloured my image with pencils and sansodor and used a leaf rubber stamp with green chalk ink and filled in the tree branches. I made a frame around my picture with brown textured paper and rubbed a dark brown ink pad over the high points to give it a kind of leather look. I coloured in my sentiment with promarkers and added a 1/2 inch ribbon and button and added to a square cream card base.

up, up & away – First Posted: Monday, February 15, 2010

I have a kite digi for you today. A little confession from me…I save the pieces of ribbon that I cut from my bow tails, yep, I’m that frugal ha ha. Well if you are like me and can’t bear to throw your little pieces away then kite tails will be the perfect use of them.

I printed my image onto white cardstock and as I wanted a harlequin kite I printed it onto 2 different papers too. I cut out the sections from the patterned paper that I wanted to use and paper pieced them onto my white card. I die cut my white card with the largest Labels One and sponged it with blue ink before removing the die to give a white border. I punched pairs of holes with my big bite down the string of the kite and threaded different colour ribbons and tied into a simple knot to make the kite tails.
