Wishing Well & Doily Borders

Hey Guys!

I had a request on the forum from magpie saying:

Years ago I saved a picture of a card which I would like to make now as a get well card. It has a wishing well and flowers on it and the sentiment is “Wishing You Well” — cute,eh?
If possible, could you make a cutting file of a wishing well, please.

I thought that this might be an image that lots of you could get some use out of too so I was more than happy to give it a go, I hope you like what I’ve come up with :) I have added digi versions of the Wishing Well for colouring or paper piecing and a few pun-ny sentiments along with the cut file, there’s also a new set of border cut files to add to your collection too.

I do find that cut files can sometimes look a little flat so I like to add some detail or dimension to liven them up a bit. Today my detail came from adding a metal handle to my bucket using some thin craft wire, also from wrapping some beige coloured thread around the center bar of the well to give the look of rope, I tied the other end of the thread to the bucket handle. My dimension came from some vellum flowers and leaves I added at the base of the well and some pearls I popped along the doily border also from attaching the well to my card with 3d foam pads.

Here’s a close up of the Wishing Well, I sponged the different sections before assembly to add some depth:

Deep Edge Cards 5&6

Good Evening!

I have 2 new deep edge cards for you today, there should be quite a collection by the time I am finished so you should find something that appeals to you, hopefully ;) Then you know me, I’ll be off and on to something new, I like to keep you on your toes :)

I kept today’s card very simple, I cut my sentiment out of some green card using a stencil font and my Zing then wrapped some white twill ribbon and a narrower green velvet ribbon around it. I popped the panel onto my card with some 3d foam pads to add some shadow behind my sentiment then finished my card with a white button and some thread.

Deep Edge Cards 3&4

Good Afternoon!

I have the next pair of deep edge cards for you today, I have a scalloped pattern on the first and a lattice pattern on the second. A similar scalloped pattern can be found here as a background panel and there is a mix and match card version too. I have more deep edge cards designed and some more in mind to design so I hope you will find them useful as there are more to come :)

I cut my card 5.5 inches wide and 8 inches tall from white textured card, the card will be 4 inches tall once it is folded. In my last post I left the cut out edge open and see-through but for a different look today I have added some black card behind my edge pattern. I layered a strip of silver ribbon on top of a strip of wider black ribbon and wrapped them around the top of the patterned area. I printed my sentiment onto some more white card then die cut with a spellbinders die and hooked onto my ribbon, a couple of gems finished the card.
