Square Easel & Ships Wheel

Good Evening!

I have a card I made for a family member to share with you today and of course I have the cut files for you too :) I added the recipient’s name to the card but I’ve blacked it out in the picture.

I know that a square easel card is easy to create with a paper trimmer but I like the accuracy that cutting it with my Zing gives me so I have a square easel card cut file for you today. I hope to build on this and bring you more easel cards so it is nice to start with a basic. I also have a set of Ship’s Wheel designs for you today so you can chose whichever one appeals to you. There is a plain wheel, a Happy Birthday circle to use over the plain wheel and a wheel that has the Happy Birthday sentiment within it.

To give a nautical feel to the card I used tones of kraft and blue, I dusted everything with distress ink and printed a nautical chart to use as patterned paper behind the Ship’s Wheel. I wanted a ‘rope’ element so I tied a Carrick Bend using 4 layers of twine (to get a decent thickness) which I then threaded through some brass eyelets.

Teddy 2

Good Morning!

I needed to make a Baby card recently and decided to make a suspension card using my Teddy Cut File the only problem is that the Teddy in that cut file is waving so isn’t symmetrical. I had to adapt him which means you will now have 2 versions of the Teddy to choose from :) So, today I have given you both the non-waving Teddy cut file if you’d like to use it on it’s own along with the completed suspension card cut file, all you will need is some adhesive and thread for your Teddy to spin on.

The most important step of putting the suspension card together is remembering to add your thread to your card base before you add the front layer in order to sandwich it between the two. It will cover all of the sticky tape and holds the thread nice and firm too. Everything else should go together easily but if you’d like to have a look at how I put a previous suspension card together you can check out the cupid suspension card here.

I’ve also added the digital Sentiment I used for my card.  I changed the colour of my digi sentiment to match the colour scheme of my card using this method.
