Snowflake Background

Good Evening!

I had a few requests for a snowflake background and here it is! Be warned though it is quite intricate, I would suggest using a lightweight cardstock, I used 160gsm which is 60/65lb I believe.

I cut my background at 5.5 inches and although it cut well, it took me a while to carefully remove the negative pieces. I glued it straight onto a piece of patterned paper by adding dots of wet glue over the back of the entire background then sliding glue under any rogue pieces that dare to pop up afterwards ;). I chose one of my favourite fonts (Sweetheart Script) for my sentiment then cut an oval for it to sit on with holes on both sides to pop some thick bakers twine through. I cut a couple of snowflakes from set 1 then added a couple of pearls and a button to finish.

Snowflake Double Z Card

Good Evening!

I have a Snowflake Double Z card for you today, it comes in 2 parts in order to make it a decent sized card (mine is just under 6 inches) so I thought I’d show how I put it together in case it isn’t obvious :)I went way out of my comfort zone with today’s colour scheme, I tend to gravitate towards whites, blues and aquas for anything snowflake-y but you have to challenge yourself sometimes! I did sneak in the obligatory bit of glitter though ;)

Pic 1. These are all of the pieces needed for the card, I picked some kraft card for my card base pieces, some patterned papers for the outside and inside layers and glitter card for my snowflake pieces:

Pic 2. I folded along the perforated lines in the kraft card then added double sided tape around the edge of one of the square panels so I can overlap them to create my card base:

Pic 3. Once the back panels were stuck together, I taped my inner patterned paper layer. I chose some paper that had a large area that I could write my message on:

Pic 4. All of the other pieces are added to the front of the card, the rectangle pieces are placed either side of the opening as a backdrop to the snowflake detail:

Party Pennants

Good Morning!

I have a multi-purpose ‘It’s a Party!’ pennant for you today. It’s suitable for any party from Birthdays to Christmas, well anything really, so I hope it will be a useful addition to your collection.

I cut my pennants from some fairly thin mirror card in blue then threaded it with some ribbon, I used organza this time as it matched the colour of the card perfectly.
