Poppy & Branches 2

Good Afternoon!

I have a Poppy cut file for you today, there are 2 each of the petal and stamen pieces included which makes one poppy. I also have a new branch set, there are 2 swirly branches and you get both the solid and outine versions, you can use either version on their own or layer the two together for a different look.

I cut my poppy petals from some red vellum and gave them some shape with an embossing stylus. I cut the stamens from some black paper and the branches from some lightweight green card. I glued 2 of the poppy petals together, I then glued 2 of the stamen pieces in the middle and popped a black sparkle on top to form each flower.

Updated Gift Card Holder

Good Morning Guys!

I have an updated gift card/cash holder for you today, I had a suggestion for one incorporating a tuck in flap and I thought that was a great idea.  I went about making one and while I was at it, I added some side flaps so now you wont need to add brads or ribbons etc, it’s much easier to use so thanks for the suggestion Carol! :)

Pic 1. I cut the holder base from some ivory pearl card, the front panels from some floral paper and the back panel from some whitewash card. The ribbon and metal embellishment are to add some decoration to the front panel:

Pic 2. I folded all of the perforated lines to help with where to place the layering pieces and added some red line tape to the side tabs:

Pic 3. I added all of my layering pieces remembering to add any decoration first so the edges can be tucked away out of sight:

Pic 4. I removed the liner from my tape and stuck my tabs in place to form the pocket:

Pic 5. The tab on the front edge tucks easily into the slot in the pocket:

Doily Gatefold

Good Afternoon!

I have a Doily Gatefold Cut File for you today, it includes the gatefold card base and the layering pieces too, one square for the inside and two semi-circles for the front. The Doily Gatefold could be used as a gatefold card or as an invitation envelope as I did with the floral versions I made previously here and here. To hold my floral versions closed I added some ribbon and tied a bow but to hold today’s project closed I used a belly band instead which easily slips on and off. So not only do you get to chose what you use it for, you also get to chose how to hold it closed, fun! :)

I cut my card base 11 inches long to form a 5.5 inch card, I used A4 ivory cardstock and the layering pieces were patterned paper. To make the belly band I took the remaining piece of ivory card from the A4 sheet, I cut it down to approx 1.5 inches wide,  I wrapped it around my card and glued the 2 ends to form a band. I cut more of the patterned paper and added a piece to the front and another to the back to hide the join in the card. I wrapped some seam binding around the band and tied it into a bow then glued a metal/pearl decoration into place.

As this type of card isn’t very stable, the stand from my last post comes in very handy :)
