You are my Sunshine…

Hi Guys!

I have some freebies for you that match the weather we’re having here at the moment, our Summer has come a little late in the season but the Sun is still shining bright so, I have a Sun with Rays and the word Sunshine in a cut file and 2 digi versions for you to colour or paper piece. I think the Sun would look really cool if it was coloured in an orange-y yellow gradient with markers or pencils. I hope you like today’s offerings :)

I combined 2 challenges when I made my card, The Ribbon Carousel asked us to use stitching in our projects this week and The Play Date Cafe picked a very cheery Yellow, Orange and Pink colour scheme for this weeks challenge. I cut a circle card on my Silhouette then sized my Sun and Sunshine word to fit within the front of the card and cut them in yellow. I used 2 sheets from the Making Memories Maddi paper pack which match the colour scheme perfectly and layered with the Sun then stitched around all of the edges on my sewing machine. I printed the orange wording onto textured card making sure to leave a gap big enough for my Sunshine word then cut into a banner shape with a craft knife and a ruler then glued my cut out word in the middle to complete the sentiment. I popped the sentiment piece onto my Sun layer with 3d foam pads, I added some white twine then used some more 3d foam pads to place my card front onto my card base.

Daisy Frame Digis and Cut Files

Good Morning!

I have another floral frame for you today similar to the Tulip frames I posted recently here and here, this time it’s a Daisy version. I have tried to cover all case scenarios so, there is a daisy cut file and daisy frame cut file and coordinating sentiment along with digi versions of the frame with and without the sentiment for those of you who fancy colouring them or don’t have an electronic cutting machine. You can of course add any sentiment you wish to these frames and I haven’t tried it yet but I think they would look great over a photograph as an alternative to a sentiment.

I cut one of the tags from my Tags 1 set and added some twill ribbon. I cut the daisy frame and petals in white card, the middle in yellow then cut the stem in green and snipped the stem at the base of the flower head. I measured the gap in my frame and printed my sentiment at just the right size to fit the space and changed the colour to match my daisy stem using the methods in these videos. In order to get just the right placement I glued the frame over the sentiment, glue gives you a minute to move the frame around as tape sticks immediately, then when the glue was dry I trimmed off the outside of the sentiment piece.

I gave the daisy petals and middle some shape by running an embossing stylus over the backs of them on a soft surface (a mouse mat is perfect for this) then layered with some 3d foam pads to keep the dimension.

Background Cut Files

Hello There!

Ok, I had 2 ideas going at once when I made these, firstly I’d like to start creating some patterned background cut files and secondly I’d like to make some really quick and easy cards that can be whipped up quick smart in the event that I’ve forgotten someones birthday ’til the last minute,  it happens to us all! So, for today’s freebies I have my first patterned background for you, I also have a card which incorporates the pattern and has a blank panel in the center ready for a sentiment then I also have a sentiment cut file ready to pop in the blank space. I hope you like them :)

Although all this card takes to make is running 2 pieces of card through your Silhouette (or your chosen electronic cutter) I think it still looks very delicate and detailed and hopefully would be well received. I layered my sentiment, popped up on some 3D foam pads and added a matching lining to my card but it would look just as good without these extras.
