Happy Birthday 2 U

Good Afternoon!

I have a couple of cut file freebies for you today, I have a flower doily that I made months ago then forgot about so I thought it was about time to give it a test cut and I have a Birthday sentiment which is a cut file version of a digi sentiment I first posted here so you now have 2 options to chose from if you use it. The sentiment comes with a matting layer (shown in pink) although I opted not to use it on my card today.

I followed this weeks iSpy Sketch for my card layout so I cut my patterned paper into 6 equal squares and sewed onto a piece of white card, I cut my flower doily in white then my sentiment in cream and matted it onto a green circle mat to pick up the green leaves in the prima paper. My card was finished with a cream seam binding bow and a peachy button which perfectly coordinated with the little flowers in my paper.

Birthday Wishes

Hey There!

I have another background cut file for you today, this one is a scallop or shell type pattern. I also have the pattern in a card base along with another of the square sentiments that fits into the blank panel in the card. Today’s sentiment has a ribbon border top and bottom which softens the card, I think, as well as adding some easy dimension. Remember you can pair your chosen mix and match card with any of the mix and match sentiments to suit different occasions or recipients.

I decided to break with the norm and cut today’s patterned card in something other than white so I opted for a rich navy blue textured card stock. I added some narrow self coloured embroidered ribbon to the ribbon borders then glued my sentiment panel onto some cream card and popped onto my card base with some 3D foam pads. I cut a cream liner for my card slightly smaller than my card base and attached with just one strip of tape to the back at the top.

The road to a friends house…

Hiyah!

I have 6 freebies for you today, I have another house scene for you and this time I tried to imagine it in a more rural setting, you have a cut file card version and a digital stamp version too. I have given you a cut file of the 3 little houses I’ve used in the recent designs so that you can use those individually and finally I have 3 digital sentiments for you that can be used with the file & image from the last post too. These will be the last house themed projects for a while, I’ll move on to something else although I don’t know what it will be right now. Don’t be afraid to make suggestions you never know I might get inspired by something you mention ;)

For my first card I wanted to show you how the cut file looks if just the front panel is used, I cut it in some textured green card stock and popped it onto a blank cream card with 3D foam pads. Don’t think that you have to use the files as they come, use all of it, part of it or even adapt them for your own uses by moving or removing sections etc, just have fun with them :)

For my second card I coloured my image with Copics again, gosh I need more practice with them but practice makes perfect, right? I followed this weeks iSpy Sketch for my card layout, I embossed my patterned papers with texture plates then attacked with distress inks then to add to the rustic look I added twine rather than ribbon.

You know, I find it pretty amazing how you can get such dramatically different looks from the same design depending on which version you chose.
